Hi, I’m Billie
I started my own therapy practice for a number of reasons. Coming from a generation where it wasn’t normalised to talk about how we feel, a lot of us today struggle with emotional regulation. I started think good psychology to offer a safe space for individuals to have a professional to confide in about whatever is on their mind and not feel judged. I hoped to provide a dependable presence where you could practice expressing yourself, and feel accepted and validated regardless of how “big or small” you think your challenges are.
Plus, I wanted to support our generation in learning tools along the way to better deal with the difficult things that life throws at us. Giving individuals a unique experience of online therapy was also important to me, as it alleviates the common barriers to seeing a psychologist, and that this experience can be totally private, so you don’t have to tell anyone if you don’t want to.
This is Charlie who loves to hang around (often by my feet). She may feature from time to time during our Telehealth sessions which can make the environment feel more comfortable, and also serve as a pleasant distraction during difficult conversations. With the rise of working from home, we are inadvertently sharing our spaces and pets. If you’d like to have Charlie present to face to face appointments, please let me know.
