Sessions are currently via Telehealth, and not face to face. You can decide with your psychologist, based on your needs and preference, of audio or video call for your appointment.
You do not need to have a referral to see a psychologist. However a referral from your General Practitioner may be preferable as you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate*.
A Medicare rebate means that Medicare will cover $87.45 per session for 10 sessions per year.
WorkCover and private health insurance also accepted
Sessions can be paid via cash, credit card, or EFTPOS, on the day of appointment.
Think good psychology endeavours to ensure that individuals have access to psychological care, and therefore can reduce the gap fee upon assessment of each individual.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration and are currently available Monday to Friday via TELEHEALTH ONLY
Medicare is now offering an additional 10 sessions per year (so 20 sessions in total where a Medicare rebate $87.45 is provided). Speak to your GP to get your additional sessions
Avoid possible cancellation fees ($80) by providing 24-hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling appointments.
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate ($87.45) for your sessions if you are an Australian citizen/resident, and you are experiencing mental health difficulties. This can be provided by a referral from a GP or psychiatrist, under a Mental Health Care Plan, which allows 10 sessions per calendar year, and now an additional 10 (so 20 in total).
You may also be eligible for a rebate under private health insurance, and the amount will depend on your cover (not in addition to Medicare).
